THE UNFORTUNATE INVOLVEMENT OF MR. OMOYELE SOWORE IN THE CAMPAIGN OF CALUMNY AGAINST ME!
Hon. Ali Isa JC, PhD, the Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, has released a statement addressing a publication by Mr. Omoyele Sowore, a journalist and online news publisher. Sowore had commented on a matter involving Hon. Ali Isa and a constituent, Mr. Umar Thomas, which is currently in court.
Hon. Ali Isa expresses disappointment and displeasure with Sowore’s publication, stating that Sowore failed to reach out to him for his side of the story before publishing his views. He also criticizes Sowore for describing the trial as “farcical,” arguing that this is contempt of court and an abuse of journalistic ethics.
According to Hon. Ali Isa, Mr. Umar Thomas is not fighting corruption, but rather facing trial for defaming his character. He claims that Thomas published false statements about him on social media, and that he has sought redress through legal means.
Hon. Ali Isa also suggests that Sowore is being used by a failed politician who is bitter about losing to him in a previous election. He invites Sowore to attend the trial on April 7, 2025, to learn from the evidence presented.
