MESSAGE OF PROGRESS, PEACE AND UNITY FROM THE OFFICE OF HON. ALI ISA JC, PhD (MAKAMAN CHAM), THE MINORITY WHIP OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Tuesday, April 8, 2025
Abuja, Nigeria
My fellow constituents of Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency, it is with utmost respect and admiration that I salute your steadfastness in the promotion of the ideals of progress, development, peace and unity in our territory, so much that we have become very well-known as the beacon of progressivism, unity and common sense. I believe that these are the cherished ideals that spurred you into entrusting me with your mandate to represent you at the National Assembly nearly two years ago.
It is gratifying that the journey has been excellent so far. You are all witnesses to the unprecedented development that has taken place in our constituency within the last twenty months through the mandate you have given me. In such a short time, my office has been able to construct over 40 schools across the length and breadth of our constituency, with a number of hospitals also constructed and furnished in a handful of communities for our people to access basic healthcare services. And very significantly, I am glad to inform our people that I shall soon be commissioning some roads that are currently being built by my office in parts of the constituency, totalling about 20 kilometres. These road projects underscore my commitment to the infrastructural development of our communities, and it excites me to see that the projects have provided several jobs and business opportunities for our people in those places.
Courtesy of that same mandate which you gave me, and which I graciously appreciate, I have also empowered more than 5,000 people either through financial grants or through entrepreneurial trainings in various business fields with basic tools and equipment given to the beneficiaries to kick-start their trade, and with the medical needs of our people also being part of my major focus, I also held a free medical outreach across some major centres of the constituency a few months ago, during which hundreds of people were freely treated for various ailments, which included eye surgeries.
Another very remarkable achievement within the period is how my office secured more than 100 federal appointments for various cadres of people across our constituency, which is unprecedented in the history of our constituency. This has opened up possibilities for some of the beneficiaries to grow and then help others in the future to get job opportunities in the federal civil service. Remarkably, this has the potential of breaking the chain of joblessness and poverty in many families.
Not left out in my empowerment programmes are our various students groups and religious organisations who also received donations of millions of Naira from me to enable them boost their education and help fulfil their various religious objectives, respectively. This, I believe, will further cement the bond of unity among our people across the various communities in Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency. And may I use this opportunity to also inform our people that I will embark on the commissioning of more completed projects in our constituency from next week, which will add to the record-setting achievements my office has brought to our people.
However, in spite of these unprecedented successes and achievements, I am mindful of the fact that certain failed politicians within the ambit of our constituency are not happy with the series of positive news of the developments my office has been bringing to our people, and to distract the attention of our people from their own failures and from our own successes, they have resorted to their old trick of instigating religious sentiments and the deployment of outright lies and defamatory noises to cover-up or minimize or downplay the magnitude of our achievements. I am sure that you have noticed how they have raised the decibels of their noises these days. But let me assure you that they cannot distract us, and neither will they stop us from achieving our goals of development, peace, and unity.
As a leader, I will continue to work hard for the benefit of everyone in our constituency, irrespective of tribe, faith, age, or anything. Therefore, I call upon all of us to shun the activities of such divisive elements whose main preoccupation is the fulfilment of their personal needs instead of our collective needs. Let us continue to be law-abiding and eschew anything that will set us back instead of setting us forward.
Once again, thank you for entrusting me with your mandate and for your daily prayers for me to succeed. With your continuous support and prayers, I can assure you that our progress shall continue to be huge and unstoppable.
Thank you.
God bless Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency!
God bless Gombe State!
God bless Nigeria!
