ATBU’s Ajayi Sunday Emerges President Dadiya Students’ Union
Comrade Ajayi Sunday has emerged the 2nd National President of the National Association of Dadiya Students (NADS) in an online election held on April 6th, 2025.
He was declared winner by the Chairman of the Electoral Commission (ELCOM), Comrade Chillion Vincent Kilisan, in an election in which he was the only Presidential candidate.
A native of Lo-Bekwang in Dadiya Chiefdom, Comrade Sunday is a 300L student of Industrial Design from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.
In his inaugural speech after the swearing-in ceremony on April 13, 2025, Comrade Ajayi Sunday, unfolded his 4-point vision statement to include facilitation of students empowerment; promotion of academic excellence amongst members; inclusive governance and Community engagement through wide consultation to harness diversity for the well being of all members.
Earlier in his valedictory speech, his predecessor and pioneer President of NADS, Comrade Shadrack Filibus Betulum, highlighted his achievements to include facilitation of JAMB registration for over 40 indigent students, and successful hosting of first Dadiya Students’ week amongst others.
The choice of online medium according to organisers of the event, is due to harsh economic situation imposed on students occasioned by the sudden fuel subsidy removal, and the fact that examinations are ongoing in most higher institutions in the country.
A total of 23 delegates drawn from 6 higher institutions of learning that are registered with NADS participated in the election.

NADS, an umbrella body of Dadiya Students worldwide was officially established in 2022, after several failed attempts. Before then, Dadiya Students Union (DASU), has been in existence for about 5 years in most higher institutions in the country as chapter unions not coordinated at the National level.
The Grand Patron of the Union is His Royal Highness, Alh Dr Abdulkadir Abubakar Galadima III, while the Patron is Mr Shuaibu Teme.
