Terrorists Regrouping, Consolidate Strongholds On Lake Chad – Zulum
Borno: Governor Babagana Zulum has raised fresh alarm over what he described as ‘Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists Regrouping in the Lake Chad Regan’
Zulum specifically mentioned the Tumbus areas of Lake Chad and the Mandara Hills within the Sambisa Forest, as major Strongholds where terrorists are consolidating.
His claim is supported by sundry sources including locals who have reported sighting terrorists gathering around the Lake Chad and it’s environs.
Governor Zulum who cites international support for terrorists and the nation’s porous borders as key challenges, called on the Nigerian military to do more.
He reiterated the need for a sustained military onslaughts to prevent terrorists from reclaiming territories, stressing that the regrouping insurgents pose significant security threats to the state and the region at large.
