Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has addressed recent political developments involving overtures from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Kwankwaso revealed that President Tinubu personally contacted him several times, urging him to rejoin the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Kwankwaso, Tinubu made direct calls and used mutual contacts to appeal for his return to the party.
He stated that the president promised to meet all his conditions, quoting Tinubu as saying, “All terms will be fulfilled; all conditions will be like pupils in your hands.”
Kwankwaso, however, declared that he would rather quit politics than return to the APC.
He emphasized that his decision is based on principle, patriotism, and a deep concern for Nigerians.
Kwankwaso accused the APC government, under Buhari and now Tinubu, of failing to address insecurity, hunger, unemployment, and corruption.
He said politics should be about service and integrity, not power-sharing or personal gain.
The senator asserted that the APC has lost both moral ground and the ability to rescue Nigeria.
He reaffirmed that his political journey is about improving the lives of Nigerians, particularly the youth and the poor.
Kwankwaso announced plans to build a broad-based political movement ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said the movement would prioritize real change over mere electoral victory.
Kwankwaso vowed to rally Nigerians, especially the youth, to democratically unseat Tinubu’s government in 2027.
He said the movement would rise above ethnicity, religion, and region.
He warned that Nigerians are suffering and will speak through the ballot in 2027.
Kwankwaso added that no amount of propaganda or elite deals will stop the people’s will.
He urged all who believe in justice and leadership to join the movement for a better Nigeria.
Kwankwaso concluded by thanking Tinubu for the offer but reiterated that his loyalty is to Nigeria, not failed parties.
