TALASSE, GOMBE STATE — The Minority Whip of the 10th National Assembly, Hon. Ali Isa JC, has commissioned a series of infrastructure and empowerment projects across Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency in Gombe State, in a bid to improve living standards and accelerate grassroots development.
The commissioning ceremony, held in Talasse, was attended by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas, and former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, signaling high-level support for the initiatives.
The event marked the unveiling of key projects across multiple sectors, including road construction, electrification, agricultural support, and political empowerment.
One of the major highlights was the rehabilitation of the Bangu–Talasse Road, a critical transport route now restored to facilitate trade, mobility, and economic growth within the constituency.
Also commissioned was the long-awaited electrification of Talasse, ending over a decade of power outage in the area.
The project was widely welcomed by residents, who described the return of electricity as a transformative milestone.
To support local farmers and promote food security, Hon. Ali JC distributed fertilizer subsidies to hundreds of beneficiaries.
The intervention is expected to boost farm yields and enhance livelihoods across the constituency.
In a gesture of political appreciation, Hon. Ali JC presented cars to loyal supporters. While symbolic of grassroots recognition, the move also underscores his efforts to reward dedication within his political structure.
Beyond the flagship Bangu–Talasse project, additional roads were constructed and rehabilitated across various communities, reinforcing the lawmaker’s emphasis on rural infrastructure.
Speaker Abbas lauded Ali JC for what he called “progressive and people-focused leadership,” adding that the projects reflect responsive representation.
Former Speaker Dogara echoed the sentiment, noting that Ali JC’s approach sets a benchmark for constituency engagement.
The presence of high-ranking lawmakers at the event reinforced the growing recognition of Ali JC’s impact beyond party lines and within legislative circles.
Hon. Ali JC’s development model combines strategic empowerment with infrastructure, targeting both immediate and sustainable needs.
While critics may question the political optics of gifting vehicles, the broader portfolio of executed projects presents a case for tangible results in constituency representation.
