Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff, has led a delegation from Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) to the NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt to seek stronger collaboration for academic and regional development.
The delegation, which included ADUN Vice Chancellor Professor Christopher Bankole Ndubusi Ogbogbo and top management staff, aimed to advance academic excellence through strategic partnership.
In a statement issued at the end of the engagement, spokesman of the institution, Makut Alfred Mashat said Admiral Ogalla called for deeper cooperation between the Navy and NDDC to support Operation Delta Safe and strengthen key naval institutions, emphasizing the shared role in peace and stability.
“We appreciate the NDDC’s ongoing support and seek a significant partnership that will boost ADUN’s capacity as a federal institution,” Ogalla said, highlighting the Navy’s commitment to national development through education.
NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, welcome the delegation and reaffirmed the Commission’s readiness to back the Nigerian Navy’s efforts in enhancing regional peace and infrastructure.
Dr. Ogbuku pledged to support ADUN in research aimed at solving security challenges and spurring socio-economic growth across the Niger Delta.
The visit underscored a growing synergy between national defense and development actors focused on education, security, and institutional advancement in the region.
Professor Ogbogbo reiterated ADUN’s mission to become a global academic force and a catalyst for transformative leadership rooted in the Niger Delta.
He also revealed plans for an “ADUN Roundtable Discussion” series to unite security stakeholders and academics in tackling Nigeria’s security challenges.
The initiative reflects ADUN’s vision under its leadership to shape global academic standards while addressing local developmental issues.
