President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian Muslims and the global Muslim Ummah on the celebration of the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement released on June 5, 2025 by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga in Abuja, Tinubu emphasized the spiritual significance of Eid-el-Kabir as a time for worship, gratitude, and deep reflection.
He noted that the festival, while joyful, ultimately calls for sacrifice, devotion, and selflessness in line with the examples of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Tinubu urged Nigerians to embody these values and to recommit to national unity, tolerance, and compassion.
The president acknowledged the economic hardships faced by Nigerians and expressed gratitude for their resilience and patience amid ongoing reforms.
He assured citizens that the most difficult phase of the reforms is over and that positive outcomes are beginning to manifest.
Tinubu stated that the government’s primary goal is not just economic recovery but sustainable development that improves lives.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at widespread national prosperity.
The president also called for solidarity and support for the victims of the May 28 flooding in Mokwa, Niger State, which resulted in loss of lives and property.
Tinubu asked Nigerians to pray for the affected families, front-line officers, national leaders, and the peace of the nation.
He further urged citizens to show generosity and compassion during Eid, and to seek divine guidance for the country’s progress.
