Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has debunked claims that Nyesom Wike allocated 2,082 hectares of land to his son in Maitama and Asokoro.
Olayinka, in a statement issued on Thursday, described the allegation as a “malicious falsehood” aimed at maligning the FCT Minister.
He stated that not even a single plot of land has been allocated to any of the Minister’s children.
He questioned the credibility of the report, asking where in Maitama or Asokoro such a vast expanse of land could even be found.
He attributed the report to “quack journalists” who, according to him, lack basic training and professionalism.
Olayinka challenged the online platform behind the report to provide any evidence showing land allocations in the name of the Minister’s children.
He clarified that the only land referenced in the report was a Right of Occupancy issued to JOAQ Farms and Estate Limited for agricultural purposes in Bwari Area Council.
He emphasized that JOAQ Farms is a legally registered company and received land strictly for farming activities.
Olayinka stressed that there is nothing wrong with a farmer being allocated land for agricultural use.
He insisted the claim that Wike allocated over 2,000 hectares to his son is completely false and should be disregarded by the public.
