CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin has officially assumed duty as the 32nd Commissioner of Police in Taraba State, bringing with her over 30 years of experience in law enforcement.
The Edo-born officer takes over the command following her most recent role as Commissioner of Police, Mounted Troops, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
She is widely recognized for her trailblazing record, notably serving as the first female Commissioner of Police in Edo State.
CP Isokpan, who holds a BA (Ed) in English, joined the police force in 1992 and has served in multiple leadership roles across Nigeria, including Bauchi, Plateau, Edo, Rivers, Imo, Kebbi, and Anambra States.
Her appointment is expected to boost police-community relations and improve the security architecture in Taraba State.
She has also undergone advanced training both locally and abroad, including courses in intelligence, internal security, and leadership, and is a member of global policing bodies such as IACP and IAWP.
In a statement issued by Police spokesperson ASP James Lashen Saminu, CP Isokpan reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring law and order, and promised to work closely with sister agencies and stakeholders.
