Police to Motorists: No Permit, No Tinted Glass
The Nigerian Police have issued a fresh advisory reminding motorists that driving vehicles with tinted, shaded, coloured, or darkened windows—regardless of whether they are factory-fitted—requires an official permit.
In line with Section 3 of the Motor Vehicles (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act, drivers have just 14 days from the date of purchase or import to obtain a permit or replace the tinted glass.
The regulation does not apply to pedestrians or cyclists wearing sunglasses.
Motorists are urged to apply for the required permit online at possap.gov.ng to avoid sanctions.
“Stay safe. Stay stylish. Stay legal,” the advisory states.
