The Joint Administration and Matriculation Board (JAMB), will reconduct the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for 379,997 candidates affected by technical issues in Lagos and the South East.
Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede announced the decision during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.
He said 206,610 candidates in 65 Lagos centres and 173,387 in 92 South East centres were affected.
Oloyede blamed the disruption on what he described as a “sabotage” of the 2025 UTME.
He took full responsibility and issued a public apology on behalf of the Board.
Affected candidates will begin receiving rescheduling messages starting Thursday.
Over 1.5 million of the 1.9 million candidates reportedly scored below 200 out of 400.
The low performance has sparked renewed concern in Nigeria’s education sector.
