The Commandant of the Nigerian Navy College of Accounts and Finance, Commodore BU Quadri, has called on graduating students to uphold the integrity of the Accounts and Budget Branch and maintain the high standards of the College in their service.
He made the remarks on Friday, 13 June 2025, during the graduation ceremony for Officers Basic Course Batch 38, Petty Officer Qualifying Course Batch 46, Leading Hand Qualifying Course Batch 46, and Basic Qualifying Course Batch 54 held in Owerrinta, Abia State.
Commodore Quadri expressed appreciation to the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, for his unwavering support in enabling the College to achieve its mandate.
He also thanked the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command, Rear Admiral IM Albara, for his continuous guidance in keeping the College’s training programmes relevant and operationally focused.
The Commandant welcomed distinguished guests to the event and applauded the graduands for their commitment to professional development.
The ceremony was attended by top naval and security officials, with Rear Admiral IM Albara serving as the Special Guest of Honour.
Rear Admiral OO Olukoya, the Chief of Accounts and Budget, was represented by Captain MC Okogba, Acting Director of Naval Accounts, who served as the Guest of Honour.
Other dignitaries included the Commander Naval Base Oguta, Commodore MA Alhassan, and the Abia State Director of Security, Department of State Services, Ibrahim Abdullahi.
Commanders and representatives of military and security formations in Abia and Imo States were also in attendance.
Captain Okogba congratulated the graduands on behalf of the CAB, commending their discipline and sacrifice throughout the course.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Chief of the Naval Staff to repositioning the Accounts and Budget Branch for improved support to naval operations.
Rear Admiral Albara, in his closing address, charged the graduands to apply their acquired knowledge with diligence and provide sound financial counsel in their respective units.
He urged them to uphold professionalism in the Nigerian Navy and be worthy ambassadors of the College.
