Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has approved the appointment of a new batch of Senior Special Assistants (SSA II) and Special Assistants (SA I) as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots engagement, enhance inclusive governance, and boost efficient public service delivery in the state.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who stated that the appointments are aligned with the Governor’s commitment to effective governance and deepening the government’s presence across the state.
According to a statement released by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House Gombe, the appointments cut across key areas such as youth and women mobilization, political affairs, civil service matters, sustainable development goals (SDGs), special projects, and trade association coordination.
A total of 18 individuals were appointed as Senior Special Assistants II, including Bashir Tukur (SDGs), Engr. Dan Naphtali (Special Projects), and Aishatu Abdulkadir El-Rasheed (Women Mobilization & Coordination), among others.
Additionally, 12 persons were named Special Assistants I, including Hajiya Kulu Suleiman, Yahaya Abdullahi (West), and Isa Moh’d Badamasi (Nabarunde), reflecting a diverse spread across sectors and communities.
“All the appointments take effect from 16th July 2025,” Misilli confirmed.
According to the statement, Governor Yahaya expects the appointees to utilize their expertise in supporting the administration’s development agenda and ensuring effective implementation of its policies and programmes.
The appointments, viewed as a move to energize the Governor’s second-term agenda, underscore the administration’s focus on grassroots inclusion and responsive governance.
