The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has clarified the payment status of gratuities and Security Debarment Allowance (SDA) to military veterans who retired in 1st and 2nd Quarters of 2024.
Spokesperson of the Board, Squadron Leader Ahmed Mohammed, made the clarification in a press release issued on Friday, August 2, 2025, in Abuja.
“The attention of the Military Pensions Board (MPB) has been drawn to plans by some retired personnel of 1st and 2nd Quarters 2024 to stage a protest in the FCT, Abuja, over alleged non-payment of gratuity and Security Debarment Allowance (SDA).
“The Board wishes to clarify that gratuities for all retired personnel of the stated periods have been paid as scheduled. Claims suggesting otherwise are unfounded and likely based on misinformation”
Mohammed explained that all gratuities for retirees of the stated periods have been paid as scheduled, describing claims of non-payment as unfounded and likely based on misinformation.
On the Security Debarment Allowance, he emphasized that the Military Pensions Board is solely responsible for the payment of gratuity and pension, and that as of date, all entitled retirees have been duly paid.
The spokesperson advised individuals or groups with concerns to seek clarification through official channels rather than resorting to public protests.
Mohammed further assured that representatives of the affected retirees are welcome to visit the Board for verification and resolution of any outstanding issues.
He reiterated the Board’s commitment to the welfare of all retirees, adding that the MPB continues to discharge its mandate with transparency, professionalism, and respect for ex-service personnel.
